Alex is a senior research analyst at Wood Mackenzie’s Energy Storage team, focused on the European storage markets, where he works primarily on battery revenue forecasting. Prior to joining Wood Mackenzie, Alex worked across the battery technology ecosystem, most recently as co-founder of Anxer, providing ML models and AI consulting for battery technology, and as project director for the Volta Foundation, co-authoring the battery industry’s most-read open-source report. He also served as a battery consultant for Motus-E, Italy’s leading electric mobility association. His technical expertise stems from his PhD research at CEA, one of Europe’s leading energy research institutes, and at Oxis Energy, an innovative battery startup from Oxford. Alex earned his PhD in Electrochemistry from Université Grenoble Alpes, complemented by the EIT InnoEnergy PhD School in collaboration with ESADE, where he studied entrepreneurship and innovation management. He also holds an MSc in Energy Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, graduating with top honors.
